Description

You will contribute to strengthening the quality, technical monitoring and operational effectiveness of AAH Health-Nutrition interventions in Mauritania. Under the supervision of the Health and Nutrition Coordinator, you will provide technical support to monitor the implementation of activities, collect, analyze and use programmatic data, as well as build the capacity of teams and partners. You will contribute to improving the quality of nutrition interventions, particularly in the areas of community nutrition, community-based management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) and integration between nutrition and primary health care. You will support efforts to strengthen continuity of care, referral mechanisms and access to essential health and nutrition services, sectoral coordination and the development of synergies, promote institutional learning, while documenting and capitalizing good practices.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

We cover your accommodation, travel, visa, medical checkup and vaccinations costs, and you will be provided with monthly pocket money for your free time and personal hygiene. During the deployment you will be provided with a laptop and phone of the organization to ensure the means to carry out the activities. In case of belonging to one of the Fewer Opportunities categories (please, check the details with the organization) additional inclusion measures and benefits will be applied.

Training during the activity

During the deployment you will have access to the full catalog of training courses offered on ACF Virtual Campus and will have the opportunity to benefit from additional external courses. 

Participant profile

You have a degree in nutrition, dietetics, nursing or public health with specialization or significant experience in nutrition. Additional training or experience in primary health care or community health is an asset. You have good knowledge of project management, monitoring and evaluation, data management and analysis tools; experience with dashboards or data visualization tools is an asset. Very good command of French, English appreciated. You have good analytical skills, and are adaptable, autonomous and rigorous. You enjoy working in multicultural teams and are interested in capacity building, training or coaching. You will join our field teams engaged in humanitarian operations and have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in a well-recognized international organization dedicated to the fight against hunger. You will gain first-hand experience of humanitarian action, life in the field, and high-impact interventions.
