Description

Join our team as a volunteer and contribute directly to youth development and community engagement in Latvia! In this role, you will collaborate closely with local youth centers in Riga and Bauska. Your core responsibilities will include assisting in the daily operation and maintenance of the centers, as well as developing and facilitating engaging activities and initiatives for local youth. A key priority of the project is promoting social inclusion and supporting young people with fewer opportunities. Additionally, you will participate in visits to schools across Latvia, helping to organize and lead interactive educational workshops. This project offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in youth work, foster intercultural exchange, and make a meaningful impact within local communities.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Participants will stay in fully equipped shared apartments in Riga and Bauska. The living spaces include everything needed for a comfortable stay - a complete kitchen, modern bathroom, washing machine, and fast Wi-Fi. Since all standard kitchen tools and appliances are provided, participants can easily prepare their own meals using a provided food allowance. All local and intercity transport is fully covered. Participants will receive public transport passes for Riga, while travel between Riga and Bauska will be handled via regular intercity buses or arranged transport.

Training during the activity

The team will introduce participants to non-formal education and show them how these activities are run in practice. Participants will learn how to work with young people, lead activities, and handle group work step by step. Throughout the project, the team will be there to help with any questions, ideas, or challenges that come up. Regular support and guidance will be provided so every volunteer feels safe, confident, and ready for their tasks.

Participant profile

This project is open to anyone aged 18 to 30 who is interested in working with young people and leading activities. Participants can also get involved in social media management and other tasks essential for youth work. No previous experience is required—all you need is motivation and a willingness to learn!
