Description

The volunteer will support the language course with young refugees and migrants, as well as help in the profession orientations courses. Don Bosco is a school tasked with ensuring the participation of disadvantaged and/or disabled young people in vocations in and around Würzburg. Don Bosco Vocational School and Consultation Centre provides personalized services in vocational orientation, preparation, training and in the transition into employment by offering individualized support services and qualification possibilities. Volunteers will be introduced to the various possibilities at our institution. The main part of the tasks will be supporting the young refugees during the German language course as well as helping in the professional orientation class.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will receive: room in a flat in Würzburg, pocket money, food money, German language course, monthly ticket for the local transport, insurance, reimbursement of the international travel costs (two ways), pedagogical, organizational and personal support.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will participate in ESC seminars (on arrival and mid-term). Also, once a month the project coordinators and all the volunteers from Lower Franconia meet and we do interesting things together. We offer also German language course in small groups of volunteers.

Participant profile

We are looking for a volunteer (18-30 years old) who is motivated to take part in the Project. If you’d like to gain experience at a special school in the education sector, if you’re keen to help young people on their educational journey and support them as they settle in, and if you’d like to support them on their path to a career, then you’ve come to the right place. Knowledge of German language will be an advantage.
