Description
We are looking for volunteers to join a long-term project focused on inclusion and meaningful connections with people with fewer opportunities.
Volunteers will support activities in a variety of settings, including family support services, day centres for people with disabilities, institutions for deaf and hard-of-hearing children, special schools working with students with learning and intellectual disabilities and autism, small rural kindergartens and care homes for older people.
Depending on the placement, volunteers may take part in planning creative and intercultural activities, support group programmes, and build meaningful connections through everyday interactions. Bring your own ideas, interests and cultural background, get to know different people and become part of their everyday lives.
This is a chance to try something new, see the world from different perspectives, discover your strengths and grow through meaningful experiences while helping create more inclusive communities.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteers will stay in a flat on the 9th floor of a ten-storey building with an elevator close to the city center. The flat has a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. Bed linen and towels are provided. Volunteers will receive monthly pocket money, a food allowance and a public transport pass. Travel costs are covered up to the limit set by the European Solidarity Corps. Volunteers will also receive free HENNER health insurance.

Participant profile
We are looking for open-minded, patient and responsible young people who are interested in inclusion and in building genuine connections with people with fewer opportunities.
Participants should be respectful and empathetic, comfortable meeting people of different ages and abilities, and ready to communicate in different ways. We especially welcome people who are creative, flexible and willing to share their interests, skills and ideas through activities.
Participants should be open to stepping outside their comfort zone, challenging their own assumptions and learning from the people and communities they encounter.
Previous experience in social work, education or care is not required. Working or studying in social care, special education, pedagogy or a related field is an advantage, but not a requirement.
As volunteers may work with children, people with disabilities, Deaf and hard-of-hearing people and older people, patience, reliability and emotional maturity are particularly important.
