European Solidarity Corps

The power of together

HEY – HELPING TO EMPOWER YOUTH 7TH EDITION

ASSOCIACAO JUVENIL DE DEAO - AJD

VIANA DO CASTELO, Portugal

Description

Volunteering at AJD means getting involved in a little bit of everything! In the Community School, you will support the Ludoteca monitors, helping children learn and play, and develop ideas to make the space greener. In the Community Garden, you will look after the plants and rethink the outdoor space as a place for learning through play. During the Holiday Camps at Christmas, Easter and summer, you will help create fun, safe activities for children and teenagers aged 6 to 16. You will also visit schools in Viana do Castelo to run workshops and join language and cultural clubs, volunteer weekly at Refood, and occasionally dynamize workshops at Day Centers to promote intergenerational contact. On top of that, you can propose non-formal language classes, boost the sports section, present the European Solidarity Corps to other young people and even develop a personal project!
