The power of together

Long-term ESC volunteering with Events and Music Production at Fryshuset Malmö

Stiftelsen Fryshuset

Malmö, Sweden

Description

Long-term ESC volunteering Fryshuset’s Malmö music department, where no two days are alike. Your responsibilities will include planning events and setting up sound systems, documenting events for social media, supporting young artists in their musical development, and, if this interests you, spending time in the studio collaborating with musicians to produce music at Fryshuset’s studio. You’re welcome to bring your own interests to the project. As an ESC volunteer at Fryshuset, you’ll become part of Fryshuset’s volunteer network and participate in group activities, training, and intercultural exchanges.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Participation in the project is fully covered by the European Solidarity Corps programme. Volunteers receive 4500 SEK per month as pocket and food money. A private room in a shared accommodation is provided for participants coming from outside the city of activity. In case the participant already lives in Malmö, financial compensation for accommodation is provided instead.

Training during the activity

You will participate in two mandatory trainings organised by the Swedish National Agency: on-arrival and mid-term trainings. Also, there will be an online Swedish course available for the volunteers.

Participant profile

We’re looking for a young person with a passion for music who wants to support a creative and inclusive environment where young musicians can share their music with a bigger audience. Whether you enjoy listening to music, going to live concerts, or are even a musician yourself, we’re looking for someone who wants to build connections through music and learn more about what makes a great music event. Since we need to take photos that capture the atmosphere in order to share music events with a wider audience, it would be great if our new volunteer were interested in photography and helping us build our social media presence.

We want you to have a strong sense of social responsibility; be attentive to people at different levels; respect people from different cultures; have diverse skills or interests, be willing to help out where needed; and be ready for a challenge!
