Technical/ creative volunteer, long term, Netherlands
Stichting erfgoedpark Batavialand
Lelystad, Netherlands
Description
Rebuild some parts of the Batavia, mast, yards, forge, traditional ship building of new 16 century replica. 19 meters long. The Bataviawerf is a dockyard with special ambitions. Ships from the golden century age, which have been important in our maritime history. Our organisation is depending on the work of volunteers for some years already. A lot of foreign volunteers helped to build the ship “Batavia” and still helping for the construction of “Het water schip”. The Bataviawerf could not exist without the help of numerous volunteers which help in showing everybody the way of building ships in the 17th century.
