Activity description

Komm!unity is a NGO in Wörgl, that is specialized on youth, integration and community work. We run several youth centers, mobile youth work, youth information center, culture venue, and integration and diversity department. Our main target groups are young people and migrants in our region. Tasks and activities of the volunteer: YOUTH WORK - Supporting the youth workers in the youth centre - planning and carrying events and projects together with the youth workers and young people - office work and social media planning at the youth information center OTHER PROJECTS - Summer holiday activities for kids - Lernfreude: learning support for elementary school pupils - Frauencafé: project, where women with different cultural backgrounds learn and practice speaking German - Dinnerclub: intercultural dinner event - various events in the field of youth, integration and community work

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will live in an apartment in Wörgl, that is centrally located and in a walking distance from the work place in Wörgl. He/she will share the apartment with another young person. The volunteer will have his/her own room. There is a shared kitchen and a bathroom. The volunteer is responsible for buying and cooking for him/herself and will receive a monthly food allowance from the hosting organization. Additionally, we will pay a monthly pocket money of 150 Euro. The volunteer will have a bike and a ticket for local transport (bus & train) in the region.

Participant profile

We would be happy to host a volunteer who... ...is between 18 and 30 years old; ...is interested in working with young people, kids and the local community; ...is motivated to bring in his/her own ideas; ...is willing to learn and speak German; ...is open minded and outgoing. We encourage young people with fewer opportunities to apply to this volunteering project (e.g. social, economic or geographical obstacles, educational difficulties, or cultural differences).
