Create an Image of Volunteering IV.

Activity description

BDC is a civic organization aiming to increase quality of volunteering in Bratislava region and to motivate folks to volunteer. A participant will help the organization to fulfill its mission through promotion - graphic design, preparing short videos, taking photos, etc. A participant will engage in activities such as: support promotion of volunteering in secondary schools, motivate people to volunteer mainly via making creative content (photography, video, posters, flyers) at BDC events, promotion of our other partners and their volunteering offers, taking and editing the visual materials and preparation for publishing. A volunteer in BDC participates in all our events where he/she provides various kinds of support, mainly related to the mentioned tasks. We welcome volunteer's own initiatives and ideas how to improve advertising of the organization, etc. The volunteer will work on own personal project, prepare public workshop and presentations for students about ESC program.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Bratislavské dobrovoľnícke centrum (as hosting and coordinating organization) will provide an adequate place to live - a room furnished with basic equipment in a shared flat or house together with other ESC volunteers. BDC does not guarantee a separate room, the room can be shared with a 1 more person of the same sex. BDC is responsible and provides a volunteer with pocket money, food arrangements support, cinributes to a local transportation costs and covers travel expenses to and from Slovakia on return home.

Training during the activity

A participant will be introduced to volunteering during orientation training (first days after arrival) and will start to attend a Slovak language course. You are obliged to attend On-arrival and Mid-term training organized by the National Agency. BDC organizes other compulsory workshops for volunteers about social-environmental topics to equip a person with the knowledge for being an active citizen. There are mandatory supervision/coaching meetings and evaluation meetings with a coordinator to reflect upon your experiences. At the end of the project, you will gain the Youthpass certificate.

Participant profile

In this project we are looking for someone ready to take up new challenges. He/she should be enthusiastic about our organization's cause - volunteering/active citizenship, and graphic design. Required qualities include: motivated person, creative, adaptable to changes or unexpected schedules, communicative, responsible, ability to work independently, willing to come up with new ideas, likes taking pictures/videos and create content. Having a practical experience with Adobe programs is a huge advantage. Otherwise, work with Canva is a must.
