Sport and recreational activities with kids in Palermo

Activity description

"San Giovanni Apostolo" is a local youth centre working with kids, young people, young-adults and families in a suburb area in Palermo. Volunteer will support the staff in the implementation of recreational activities aimed at young people of the centre: - after-school educational activities for kids (support with homework, English or French language workshops through non-formal methodologies) - recreational and creative workshops (guitar lessons, dance lessons, theatre, drawing, manipulation of raw materials etc) - support in the implementation of sports activities, such as football (training, accompanying young people to local sports tournaments, support during matches) - developing a personal project. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation: volunteer will be hosted in double-room shared with another volunteer. Flat consists of 3 double-rooms, common living room, kitchen and 2 shared bathrooms. This is equipped with all needed (water, electricity, heating, furniture). Free wi-fi is available. Accommodation is located in city centre, and well connected with public transportation. Local transport: 3-month bus pass Individual support: monthly cash allowance (Euro 5,00 per day) Food: monthly cash allowance (Euro 120,00 per month) Travel costs (outward and return): covered up to Euro 275,00 Insurance: Cigna

- On arrival training and Mid-Term Evaluation organised by Italian National Agency - Online Linguistic Support (Italian language)

Participant profile

- age between 18 and 30 years - strong motivation for working with kids - flexibility and adaptability to different contexts - ability to team working - ability to implement sport activities (sport education) - creativity and artistic skills (e.g. music, painting, drawing) - good language skills (at least A1 in Italian and B1 in English)
