Activity description

A small basic school in West-Estonia is very eager to host our first volunteer. Our aims are to support and teach students as well as possible so they can be enterprising and successful in life. Palivere is a small community, 15 km from Haapsalu and 85 km from the capital city Tallinn. In the school the tasks for the volunteer are to help teachers and children in their everyday activities; the volunteer can help with planning and organising events, helping in different after-class clubs, helping students to do their homework in long-day class, going on field trips etc. Working hours are from Monday to Thursday at 9.00-15.00, on Friday at 9.00-14.00 Palivere school is a safe and happy place for students. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer is accommodated in a youth hostel, which is basically a dormitory (double room with shared kitchen corner and separate bathroom for three rooms), located in the centre of Haapsalu. The transport to work and back to Haapsalu will be arranged. It is possibility to have warm meal at school.

Participant profile

We are looking for a open-minded, friendly and active volunteer fo the next school year. We would like to host a volunteer from EU, who is motivated to work with children. We would like the volunteers to introduce their culture and learn a little about our culture. We expect the volunteers to have at least B1 level in English.
