Join us in shaping a brighter tomorrow through our initiative, 'Youth for a Better Future.' Our mission is to ignite social cohesion and active citizenship, particularly among the vibrant youth. Dive into a dynamic program featuring thematic workshops on active citizenship, community engagement, and lively public debates. Engage in advocacy campaigns, discover the art of environmental stewardship, and learn about sustainable practices like proper recycling and greening actions. As a volunteer, you'll be at the heart of it all, assisting in organizing workshops and events across the diverse landscapes of the Dambovita region. Dive into the creation of compelling communication strategies, offer invaluable support to workshop participants, and even lead engaging sessions and ice-breaking activities. Your contribution extends beyond events as you become an integral part of our daily efforts within the local community. Join us in shaping a brighter tomorrow through meaningful engagement!

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Based on the ESC budget, each volunteer receives 90 Euros/month pocket money and a 150 Euros/month food allowance. Accommodation in Targoviste is exceptional, offering fully furnished and eco-friendly amenities. The house includes a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 3 twin bedrooms, communal dining and recreation areas, Wi-Fi, and bicycles. It operates on green energy, providing solar-powered heating and hot water. Volunteers are accepted for placements ranging from a minimum of 2 months to a maximum of 12 months. Training during the activity

Volunteers will receive pre-departure training which will be provided by support and hosting organization. At the start of the volunteering program the training will be continued with thematic sessions carried out by volunteer coordinator. Also volunteers will be involved in an official On-Arrival training carried out by the Romanian National Agency for all international volunteers. The hosting organization will support volunteers with proper preparation to carry out the tasks, with mentoring and constant feedback. Lessons of local language will also be given on a regular basis.

Participant profile

This volunteering position require interested persons in the field of active citizenship, community development, facilitation and psycho-pedagogy. The volunteers must be open-minded, proactive, motivated to learn and develop personally and professionally, also to be a sociable persons and eager to work with young people aged 13-20 years old. Volunteers must be open to move in a small city and support the host organization in its daily work with the local community. English skills, B2 – level is required, also willingness to learn Romanian language.
