Activity description

Our organisation "Outdoor Artists" has been setup back in 2012, with the aim to promote arts and cultural education. Since then we have hosted a good number of volunteers who helped us with various tasks, which include: Events co-ordination, running of workshops for both adults and kids, space maintenance, On-line digital marketing, Leaflet and poster designs for our activities, communications and also with other tasks which involve building up critical thinking and creative communities. We also involve our volunteers in available training courses and exposure of the arts. Volunteers who have a sending organisation witha LEAD are kindly requested to write in the subject title of the application: 'I have a sending organisation with a LEAD'. Due to the high demand, other e-mails which do not carry the title, will be ignored.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

With reference to accommodation, you will be staying in a twin room with a prospect volunteer. While we are flexible with the accommodation, we will try our best to find you the best option close to the space where you will be volunteering. With reference to the food, it is self-catering while we will help the volunteers arrange with a public transport card so as they can travel for free using the local bus during their stay.

Training during the activity

A 2 week training will be provided together with an implementation of an activity. The training involves the induction day, where participants are thought the operations of the organisation, together with a timetable. They will be given training with reference to the implementation of the activities from concept to realisation. These include but are not limited to: co-ordination, marketing, communications an design.

Participant profile

ONLY volunteers who have a LEAD organisation, are between the age of 24 and 30 and possess or are studying for a degree related to the arts and/or culture can apply. The volunteer must have a very good command of the English language, is able to communicate and have a sense of belonging. Other skills which would help us ease the process of choice are an artistic eye and the interest in making use of digital software which include Canva, and Adobe After Effects.
