The label is a tool to promote renewable energy. We are hosted by the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation (Suomen luonnonsuojeluliitto) and are active in over 80 countries. We are looking forward to welcoming a new European Solidarity Corps volunteer, to help us promote renewable energy. This time particularly encourage candidates from Ireland and Malta to send an application. The project activities include setting up climate change campaigns, promoting renewable energy, contacting energy consumers and writing articles. The volunteer will also help with the daily tasks related to the ecolabelling process.
 All tasks happen from our Secretariat in Helsinki. In total our Secretariat hosts 8 ESC volunteers.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

- Accommodation: volunteers get a private room in a shared apartment 
 All 8 volunteers live in the same street, meaning that they can easily support each other when needed. - Volunteers also get an allowance to buy food, a bus ticket for transportation within Helsinki, and European Solidarity Corps pocket money. - ESC health insurance 
 - Travel: we pay for the travel from your home country to Finland (and return).

Training during the activity

- Pre-arrival training by the sending organisation 
 - On arrival training organised by Opetushallitus, the Finnish national Agency - Information on the electricity market
 - Regular webinars about climate change and EU climate policy

Participant profile

- Interest in environment and climate protection. - Social person, interested in living and working with other young volunteers. - Interested in communication (verbal and visual) - Not afraid to contact unknown persons via phone, Skype, Zoom... - Most of the work happens from our office and with the computer. The project involves a lot of reading, writing, designing, translating,...
