Support media education with the MJC of Champagne Ardenne (Fr)

Activity description

The FRMJC in a youth association who provide technical and pedagogical support to other associations and schools in the departments of Marne, Ardenne and Aube in the fields of youth empowerment, citizenship, culture... The mission of the volunteer will be in the "youth and citizenship" sector and focus on 3 parts: -in support of the animators the volunteer will take part in actions about "media and information education" : animation of educational games for children and teenagers, - develop personal project on the topic of media and information education within our network He/she will also take part in the organisation's activities and the network's main events. With other European volunteer and French volunteer he/she will work on common project of their choice related to our missions On Monday, collective times will be dedicated to the follow up of the mission and training with 2 to 5 other volunteers, the mission will be on 33h per week with free week end.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer share a flat in Reims with other volunteer. The flat count 1 bedroom for each volunteer and common places (living-room, bathroom, kitchen) and is fully equipped (cover, towel, washing machine, oven, plates, wifi, TV, bike...). The flat is close to groceries, pharmacy, train and bus station. It is also 10 min by walk of the office. The volunteer will receive 180€ per month for pocket money and 55€ per week for food. The mission require frequent travel, mostly by train, pass will provided by the FRMJC, but a car can be lent if needed.

Training during the activity

The volunteers will participate in the training cycle organised by the national agencies. Depending on his/her motivations and opportunities, the following trainings can be considered with our staff : -training in cultural activities (how can he/her speak about culture with young people, radio animation, ...) -Training in educational activities (how to support youngster projects, project methodology, trainings on the topics of our pedagogical tools) - training about media and information and/or new technology through our Fablab - French lessons ...

Participant profile

We search someone motivate, curious, sociable, ready to share his experience with other young people and the team. The volunteer need to be interested in cultural activities and/or working with children ang teenagers and ready to share his energy. This mission is mainly for people open minded, flexible, good listener. If the volunteer will have classical office basic hours of mission, the exact schedule might change according to the distance between the office and the place of the animation. The mission need a volunteer with B1 level of French minimum and a driving licence.
