Activity description

WeWorld Onlus works especially for girls, boys, women and young people, actors of change in every community for a fairer and more inclusive world. It helps people to overcome emergencies and guarantee a life worth living, by offering opportunities and a better future through programmes of human and economic development. Join us at our mission in Benin! You will support the project team in implementing and monitoring the project activities focusing on inclusive quality education, children's rights and protection and women’s right and empowerment, participating in meetings to monitor beneficiaries’ involvement and ownership, reviewing technical reports and systematizing lessons learned, among others. You will acquire competencies regarding the organisation of awareness-raising activities, campaigning with local organizations and community beneficiaries, WASH in schools activities and protection mechanisms as well as the management, monitoring and evaluation of progress activities results

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will have the opportunity to live together with another volunteer in a shared flat. The hosting organization will cover the accommodation costs and utility bills and you will be provided with free Wi-fi a local sim card and a laptop. You will receive pocket money for your personal expenses, including food and local transport. Travel costs from your home country to the country of deployment will be covered by WeWorld. Insurance (Henner) will be activated for the whole duration of your deployment.

Training during the activity

You will attend a pre-departure induction which will focus on WeWorld’s work and policies, technical and thematic aspects of humanitarian aid, Safety&Security, mentoring, and practical arrangements (visa, insurance, etc). Once in the country, you will participate in an induction on the programs and your contribution to the hosting organization. We encourage you to participate in training opportunities during your deployment, online or organized by our national and international partners; you will have a small budget for external courses. You will have access to WeWorld's e-learning platform.

Participant profile

We look for a motivated person, ready to socialize and experience a different culture, fluent in English, and able to adapt and work in a team for a period from 10 to 12 months. Previous relevant experiences are considered an asset. Are you interested in project management and international cooperation? You will be supported by a line manager and a mentor that will follow up on your volunteering experience. If you face economic or other types of barriers in accessing services, employment, education and training opportunities, or live in remote areas, don´t hesitate to sign up!
