Activity description

The European Solidarity Corps volunteer in Communication & Advocacy shall support the Country Coordinator in the update and implementation of the communication and advocacy strategy in Palestine and in the design and implementation of the annual communication and advocacy action plan. S/he will support MDM-Spain on the design and implementation of the common communication and advocacy frame for the 3 MDM chapters working in Palestine. S/he will also support the MdM mission as the focal point for communication. The volunteer shall be in close contact with the West Bank field team, in particular regarding data collection and reporting. Considering the number of organizations (both national and international) involved in advocacy in Palestine, s/he will communicate and coordinate activities with them.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The EU-funded project has these working conditions: -Monthly maintenance (€950/month) for basic needs. -Accommodation, vaccines, visa fees, and transportation costs will be covered directly by the support/host organization. -For each month of voluntary activity, the volunteer will enjoy 2 days of rest, in addition to public holidays. -Coverage by the organization of a return flight ticket from the country of origin to the country of deployment, as well as of costs relating to the briefing/debriefing. - Support for medical check-ups, vaccinations, visas, etc. required before departure.

Training during the activity

The experience of volunteering with MdM in Palestine will enable the person joining our team to strengthen their knowledge and skills, both professionally and personally. S/he will have the opportunity to learn about or deepen his/her knowledge of the situation in Palestine, especially regarding the MHPSS situation through the projects we implement in the field. S/he will also be able to learn about the various development and emergency response approaches implemented by our team. The volunteer will be working as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.

Participant profile

Communication Sciences/International Relations/Human Rights Background, Experience in a humanitarian organization, in the communication field, advocacy, public speaking and negotiations with partners and authorities. Excellent analytical skills for complex political/humanitarian context, communication and writing skills, good management of the Microsoft Office 365, Excellent level of English; Arabic is an asset, Knowledge of how to use policy, research, lobbying, public campaigning, media and digital work to influence a political agenda. Skills in graphic design, video, photo editing.
