Activity description

This short-term volunteering project aim to bring a group of volunteers in the village of Antaliepte to help the local community. Antaliepte is a small village in the rural area of Zarasai region, Lithuania, where our organisation established its centre since 2017. We are implementing every year projects to make the area more useful and beautiful, but this time we would like to help directly the people from the village: old people that are not able to work, poor people that cannot effort material for renovation of their house, etc. With the help of a professional and local carpenter, we will enter in the house and in the heart of the local people, to make their life better and easier.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers, the mentor and the work coordinator will live in our beautiful "Medus Laboratorija", a fully equipped co-working and co-living space with kitchen, common space and an amazing glass terrace. The rooms have 2-3 sleeping places with private toilets and showers in each room; the building is also equipped to host people with physical disabilities. The food will be cooked by our kitchen team and served in our 17th century monastery. All the travel expenses will be cover.

Training during the activity

- the first 3 days of the short-term volunteering will dedicated to an on-arrival training, where a professional trainer will build a program aimed to bond the group and to get to know each other; - We will have the opportunity to work with a professional wood carpenter, very qualified and creative; - the weekends will be free, but we will organise activities in the nature and in the team.

We are looking for motivated people with creative and open mindset that will put effort in helping the locals to have a better life.
