Activity description

"Hand in Hand 4 a Better EUrope" project takes place in the city of Baia Mare & several other rural & urban communities from Maramures, within AIST & local partner premises. The geographic scope of the project covers Romania & various countries, involving several other promoters acting as partners. Our project has 1 long term youth mobility Activity, minimum 6 - 12 months that follows our project objectives with diverse target groups: from kindergarten (4-6) primary (7-11) secondary, to highschool & university students

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

ravel: project coordinator informs counterparts/volunteers on travel routes & prices to match set budget. AIST reimburses eligible costs to volunteer using transport documents to justify travel. AIST will provide volunteers with bikes for local transport and/or bus tickets for activities in rural areas outside Baia Mare city. Accommodation: Volunteers will be hosted in safe and central lodging within Baia Mare, with facilities & utilities included, 150 euro food allowance, 90 euro/month - volunteer's allowance, training courses & mentoring included.

Training during the activity

Learning environment & outcomes: volunteers will gain diverse social, educational skills & competences, that will be useful for their upcoming educational,training & employment opportunities. They will be involved in designing & implementing activities of social inclusion through non-formal educational methods practiced daily. They will learn to plan, implement & adjust educational activities for children & youth, typical & underprivileged, from urban & rural environments as well. Volunteers also learn to be more flexible & adapt to changes as unexpected situations come up despite planning.

Participant profile

Volunteers should be over 18 years old, primarily with fewer opportunities, and need to be interested in learning & personal development, enjoy working with kids & youth, to be open & tolerant to other cultures. Flexibility is required, as they'll work in a multicultural environment as part of an international team. Being responsible, positive, energetic, communicative and a basic level of English is desirable to ease communication during project activities & within the international project team of staff & volunteer
