Volunteering Activities at Intercultural Association For All (IAFA)

Activity description

There are several activities for volunteers to participate. Besides regular activities, volunteers will work in the IAFA developing department. General activities that volunteers will perform: • To participate in cultural and sports activities of inclusion proposed by IAFA, where less opportunities participants (physical, economic or social issues) will be invited to participate; • To promote volunteering: by creating a blog, through social networks, press and conferences; • To work with people with economic difficulties and/ or in a long lasting unemployment situation (more than one year); • Elaboration and coordination of local and regional activities; • To give local population the possibility of interact with volunteers in a foreign language; • Creativity and development (according to volunteers' interests and skills); • Participation in inclusion activities with the foreign inhabitants living in the county.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteering project will take place in Barcelos, Portugal. Barcelos, has all the conditions to embrace this project, which makes a pleasant location for the volunteers and benefits local population, who gains with the experience, activities and knowledge exchanges brought by volunteers. Volunteers will be hosted in a private house/ apartment with two/three beds per room, located in Barcelos city center. Each volunteer will have house with all the facilities (fridge, washing machine, furniture, bedroom clothes, cutlery), ensuring a nice, safe and pleasant experience.

Training during the activity

The volunteers will have contact with a new culture, will meet new people and will live new experiences. The volunteer will have the opportunity to participate on events’ organization and in several activities promoted by IAFA. Being the voluntary from a different nationality, they can share their experience and culture giving projects added value in the European intercultural sphere.

Participant profile

Age: 18-30 Turkish citizens with Green Passport / EU Passport / valid Schengen visa LÜTFEN YEŞİL PASAPORT YA DA SCHENGEN VİZESİ OLMAYANLAR BAŞVURMASIN! Communicative level of English !!! Applicants from the regions affected by the earthquake will be prioritized.
