Activity description

We are looking for young people who are passionate about the European Idea and would like to promote it. The month of May is the “Month of Europe” and so there will be a lot of events happening around the state of Saxony Anhalt linked to that- especially with the elections to the European Parliament coming up. At EJBM, we will be visiting several schools, supporting citizen dialogues, host project days among other things. Supporting these events will be the main task of the volunteers.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be accommodated in shared rooms with generally four people (towels and sheets are provided) at the European Youth Educational Centre Magdeburg. Since our facilities can also be booked by outside groups, the living arrangements can be subject to change due to bookings by outside groups. The volunteers will receive money to prepare meals with the group (unless meals are provided by the organisation) as well as 6€ pocket money per day. Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to fixed rates according to the distance traveled as per the regulations laid down in Erasmus+

Training during the activity

Participants will be trained at the various formats like a living library etc. that we use at events promoting the European Idea and participation in the EU elections.

Participant profile

We are looking for enthusiastic young people who are eager to live and work in a team of 15-20 people from different countries. If you have experience with one of the tasks mentioned before - that's great. But it is even more important that you are willing to learn and try new things. Further, it is preferable if you are open-minded, flexible, have a problem- solving attitude, and can work well in teams. Knowledge of English and German is an asset.
