Activity description

The Asociation IMORA is a small community of small scale farming and natural living on the countryside of Spain. This is a call for short term Volunteering team project, we are looking for 15 volunteers from EU who are interested in permaculture, simple low standart and sustainable lifestyle, environment and its preservation. 3 vacancies for national participants. Project duration: 16 days+2 travel days (4 days for green travel), starting on 7th of May, 2024. Project activities include: - Theory of permaculture - Organic garden and food forest maintenance in accordance with permaculture principles - Homemade food crafts - Care of farm animals - Recycling activities, - Construction activities based on bio-construction criteria, - Other environmental activities.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

IMORA will provide accommodation for the volunteers in a hostel, shared rooms with own bathroom and shower, it is fully furnished and has everything needed to ensure a simple accommodation (kitchen utensils, towels, blankets, etc.). Food and transport needed for devellopement of activities also will be provided by the host organization, volunteers will be responsible of cooking. There is no need for local transport during the project, activities are develloped in the same place. No cities and supermarkets around. Internet connection, WiFi access in the main building.

Training during the activity

The host entity offers necessary preparation for the performance of all tasks to prevent risks that the activities may cause. As the team of the association is international, the period of adaptation in intercultural environment is facilitated by offering linguistic support and translation if needed, although basic knowledge of Spanish can be a benefit. Monitoring and preparation of volunteers by tutors or responsible for the activities will be offered.

Participant profile

Between 18 and 30 years old. 15 volunteers who are willing to carry out different activities in the rural environment. Self sufficiente people with initiative, regardless of the experience, gender or socio-economic situation, with the eagerness to learn, and giving them a space not only to develop the current agroecological projects, but also to create their own microprojects. It is essential for the volunteer to have a passion for nature and interest in the development of a sustainable rural environment. Able to live in community and in a low standart conditions.
