Activity description

Go Digit All (GDA) is already accredited to send and coordinate EVS projects until 2020. GDA has worked with young people from a range of different backgrounds over a number of years' to develop our international projects. GDA support VET educational projects in UK and in EU. Organising community volunteers to promoting ICT learning, promoting social cohesion and developing active citizenship. GDA also advocate on behalf of young people at senior levels, supporting them to understand structures, processes and provide forums for them to articulate their views and communicate their needs. Out project acts as a platform to give young people with fewer opportunities and the organisations that work with them access to Erasmus+ youth mobility, European volunteering services placements and training for youth workers.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

All volunteers will reside together with other peers in supported shared house and allocated a supervisor and mentors. The properties will be managed and rented by GDA close to the project or within a good transport network. All volunteers will have a tenancy within the shared house suitable for multiple occupancy with an House of multiple Occupancy (HMO) licence; The accommodation is fully furnished, including bedding, and kitchen and laundry equipment. The volunteer will his/her own room or share a room with the same sex. Food will be bought and provided by the project.

Training during the activity

Training induction will be provided on equipment, health and safety and community awareness also possibility of further courses such as english and computer skills. Prior to arrival in the UK, all volunteers receive some on line training and link to ‘pre-departure pack’ with a role description, contact details of their supervisors and peers, as well as information about what to bring and what formalities are required (getting a passport, police check. government websites etc). All volunteers will also receive an activity agreement of which both copies need to be signed and one returned.

Participant profile

All young people between 18-30 years old will have the opportunity to participate in the GDA EVS Project. The volunteers should be motivated and wanting to learn new a range skills. They ideally will be interested in technology,communities and have some ICT skills. A basic understanding of Youth pass competences and abilities needed to achieve the certification. The volunteers also come from different cultural backgrounds and should be good team players to be able to achieve a harmonious ambience and positive outcomes of work.
