Description
The host organisation sets up activities for disadvantaged young people between 12 and 18 years old. You'll need to work with social workers and young people to create workshops. The workshops can be about something you enjoy doing as a volunteer (working with dogs, cooking, music, sport, the arts...). The activities take place in a democratic environment where young people have a voice in participation. A new programme is drawn up every week. During the school holidays, the association is closed. However, you can take part in camps (outdoor, overnight) with our young people with overnight stays) with our young people and social workers.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
You will be accommodated in in a studio near the city centre of Antwerp on Kiel. You will be provided with a public transport pass or a bicycle and two train passes for 10 single rides each within Belgium. You will receive an amount as pocket money, and 250 euro/month as food allowance. The travel from Italy to Belgium and back is fully reimbursed. An insurance company will protect you from any risk.
Formation pendant l’activité
You'll attend 3 official training sessions: a pre-departure one before leaving Italy, an on arrival one a few weeks after your advent in Belgium and a third one at around half of your volunteering. You will also receive other training in working with youngsters and reflection on your own skills. You'll be also provided with course of Dutch.
Profil du participant
You must be minimum 20 years old. For this project it would be nice if you had social and interpersonal competences and if you want to learn new ways of approaching young people. You think of yourself as a creative, flexible, enthusiastic, engaging, empathic, open for new ideas, curious and want to learn and develop then join the project! Your various passions as music, art, sport, drama are very welcome.
