Activity description

Liebenau Teilhabe Hegenberg (former St. Gallus - Hilfe für behinderte Menschen) is a big organization offering various kind of support to children and young people with disability. Two volunteers are hosted there. The Don Bosco school for youngsters with learning disabilities is situated in Hegenberg.The second volunteer focuses on the Don Bosco School. You help young people with disability in school and support the teachers. Both volunteers are also involved in free time activities on weekends or during holidays.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers have a single flat in the staff residential house on site. The flat is fully equipped and there are many young people living in the building. The volunteers receive money to buy their own food. Liebenau Teilhabe (former St. Gallus - Hilfe für behinderte Menschen) is situated in the very small village of Hegenberg. Public transport goes frequently to Ravensburg, it takes about 20 minutes to reach Ravensburg centre. The volunteers have a bus ticket.

Training during the activity

The volunteers take part in the two ESC seminars. They also attend a language class in the Hochschule Weingarten.

Participant profile

The Liebenau Teilhabe would like to host volunteers who might have volunteer experience in working with youngsters with disability, the vacancy is however not open to people with a degree in social studies or pedagogy. If you don’t have experience but are motivated, you are welcome to apply as well! Language knowledge is not too important, it helps however to integrate!
