Efterskolen for Scenekunst

Malling, Dänemark

Beschreibung

Efterskolen for Scenekunst is a part of a network of schools in DK, known as “Efterskole”, which is a unique schooling concept found only in DK. Broadly speaking it is a private boarding school with government grants that provides Secondary School education for young people, predominately between the ages of 14-17. Each “Efterskole” chooses its own profile and an area on which it will focus its teaching, in addition to the compulsory subjects. Beside main school subjects Danish, Math, English, German, Physics, Sports, our school has 3 creative subjects of which students choose. These are Dance, Theatre and Music. One unique thing about the “Efterskole” is the teacher-student relationship. The teacher is responsible for both teaching and supervision outside of school hours. This means that teachers and students are together all day from the time the students wake up until they go to bed. This ofen engenders a close, personal and non-formal relationship between students and teachers.

Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten

The school is located in the little town of Malling (pop. 3300) in the middle of Jutland, close to Denmarks 2nd largest city Aarhus. The volunteers will live in a family sized house which has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The house is located on the school grounds. The volunteers are entitled to full board and lodging during their stay with us. All food is provided via the school's kitchen. There is access to washing machines. The school can provide a bicycle as there are many good cycle paths in the surrounding area.
