Activity description

We have a project for 6 young people doing 4 months Volunteering in Oradea city, in Transilvania, in ROmania The project is about SCIENCE - about teaching, engaging, encouraging and INSPIRING kids of both genders for STEM Science Technology Engineering Math - STEM is a field where romanian kids like other EU kids have not many activities. EU as Romania too, needs more people working in the field of STEM - and this project is about showing kids that STEM is fun, is engaging, is interesting, is great and is cool. Volunteers will: - prepare and organise STEM activities for kids 6-12 years in schools - organise a STEM club - activities 2 times per week for kids 6-12 years - organise a FAIR for STEM, where kids individuals or organsied, formal or informal groups/ clubs will present engineering projects

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation - in apartments in Oradea city close to public transportation and shopping areas Each volunteer - his/her own room Renting apartments and all utilities covered by Coordinating organization WIFI is available Food - volunteers receive 120 Euro/month for food Pocket money - 90 Euro/month International transport - maximum from Erasmus+ (Germany – 275 Euro, Turkey,- 275Euro, Spain – 360 Euro) Local transport - we cover a monthly pass which allows transport with all local buses and trams. We cover medical insurance via CIGNA. we cover Visa costs

Training during the activity

The trainings provided by National Agency of Erasmus+ in Romania - respectively On Arrival Training and Mid Term Evaluation Sending and Coordinating organisations - provide support and help volunteers in the Preparation phase Coordinating organisation and local partners provides following trainings: - orientation at arrival - how to prepare and run activities for kids 6-12 years -The Why and the How of using Non formal Education - Leading Kids Through a Successful STEM Experience - supervision and feedback during active involvement - training about intercultural learning

Participant profile

Young people 18-30 years from Spain&Germany We are looking for -highly motivated and socially-minded young people willing to have a beautiful life and work experience,especially those with fewer opportunities including refugees -people curious and willing to learn to work with kids 6-12 years in Encouraging them for STEM -people who graduated pedagogy, engineering, chemistry, physics, math willing to have a practical experience in working with kids from primary school -open-minded people which are willing to learn and develop -able to speak English basic to middle level
