KERIC IS: NGO organisation. Founded in 2003. Working mainly with children and youth aged 8-30 as well as adults from the Kysuce region. Activities with an extra added international dimension. AIMS OF THE PROJECT: Creating an International Team in KERIC and Collaborating on Community Activities: 1: Establish an international team within KERIC. 2: Encourage cooperation among team members for the creation of various activities. 3: Develop activities that benefit and involve the local community. 4: Promote cross-cultural understanding and exchange among the international team members. Motivating Children and Youth to Speak English and Experience Volunteer Culture: 1: Foster a positive and engaging environment for children to feel motivated to speak English. 2: Provide opportunities for children to experience and learn about the culture of the volunteers. 3: Ensure that the English-speaking activities are enjoyable and contribute to a fun learning experience.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will stay with a host family for the initial week, followed by accommodation in a shared apartment centered around the concept of "living together." The apartment comes fully furnished, providing volunteers with the freedom to cook their meals. Financial support for food expenses will be provided, and the project will cover travel costs related to various activities.
Training during the activity
1. Pre-departure Online Training 2. Methodology training for teaching through non-formal methods, conducted weekly in an online format. 3. Leadership Training for Summer Camps: Training focused on developing leadership skills tailored for roles in summer camps. 4. On-arrival and Mid-term Training 5. Psychologic support during whole project
Participant profile
The opportunity is available to any motivated youngsters aged 18 to 30. The hosting organization will organize information meetings for interested candidates. Those interested can apply based on transparent criteria and within the specified selection deadline. This project offers volunteers the chance to acquire skills in organizing non-formal education activities for children, youth, and adults. It provides a platform for developing teaching skills through hands-on experience.
