description of organisation

Seiklejate Vennaskond is a youth and civil society organization, which connects active adventurous people together. We work mainly with young people, but also with youth workers, trainers, teachers and organizations active in non-formal education fields and lifelong learning. We sincerely believe that young people today can make a difference and we all work for this purpose. First activities of the organization date back to the year 2003 when a group of active young people got together to organize a youth exchange. After that there have been many local regional activities concerning integration, adventure tourism and different interest specific activities. Since 2010 Seiklejate Vennaskond has become from a nonformal youth group to a registered non-profit organization. We wish that as many Estonian youth would be aware of international youth projects, meanwhile including youth with fewer opportunities.

Our mission:
- to help youth to discover the world through adventure:
- helping youth realising their ideas through international cooperation and non-formal learning
- offering Estonian youth workers opportunity to develop themself in international youth work

Our Objectives:
1. Creating opportunities for youth and people working with youth to participate in international youth work.
2. Supporting inclusion of youth with fewer opportunities.
3. Promoting the importance of voluntary work (offering opportunities participating in ESC).
4. Stand up for European common values like human rights, anti-discrimination and diversity.
5. Coordinating "No Hate Speech!" movement in Estonia.
6. Supporting intercultural learning through organizing international youth projects.
7. Help to realise young people's good ideas, supporting their enterprisingness and developing leader skills.

Seiklejate Vennaskond is a sending and coordinating organization for European Solidarity Corps volunteers. Since a few years we have an Estonian mentoring system for our volunteers abroad. This gives an opportunity to our former volunteers to give back to ESC community and be still active in the field.
