description of organisation

Our organization long ago, back in 1987, started from the background of a church community where we were in charge of youth in the ages between 12 and 25 years old.
In 1994 we started to organize the first exchange with Romania on our own and with the help of fundraising. we did this several years in this way. then in 2000 when the youth program started we took grateful use for that for our exchanges and have been developing in the spirit of youth program, Youth in Action and Erasmus + now.
during this youthwork of about 30 years we have developed more and more and are always trying to discover new horizons. After we participated in 2005 in a contact making seminar on writing and organizing trainings and contact-making events. We separated ourselves from the church (for the projects only) by starting a private foundation under the name Rock Solid Foundation for International Youth Work
More and more we are focussing on groups of vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in which we have particularly specialized in working with people with disabilities, both physically and psychologically and mentally. in 2013, we also extended our focus on EVS, we now have sent several volunteers for long term EVS to various countries, we also organize hosting for three organizations and are still expanding. at this time we host 14 volunteers working for a year in health care in the Netherlands to clients with disabilities. We are also working in the background to set up a youth center focused on intercultural learning, this is a long process and will take some time to get another one and a final form. We are part of several international networks, including the network "EVS as a tool for NEET to Become EET" initiated by various national agencies including the Dutch. All our projects are part of these groups and in fact all of our projects have participants with fewer opportunities,
One of the goals of the foundation is to solve the problems of passive acceptance of given life situations, making access to activities that enable the quality of life to be improved. The target group of the foundation has become primarily people with disabilities and fewer opportunities and everyone who is open to acceptance and inclusion.
The foundation wants to help everyone who does not have the opportunity to actively shape their lives in discovering and developing their potentials and desires. We promote a positive and proactive attitude towards life.
In order to achieve its purpose and goals, the Rock Solid foundation carries out activities and implements projects in the fields of art, sport, culture and leisure activities. It also organizes various educational and other events.
As part of our activities, we are also associated with other related organizations and individuals at home and abroad.
biggest activity in the next three years as described in the granted application for ESC are hosting 16-20 volunteers full-time for the next three years, organizing every year 2 short terms for disabled persons plus helper of two month. and sending on request.
