International Center for Peace and Integration (ICPI) is a non-governmental organization founded in 2011 by active youth leaders and ex-EVS volunteers, having different backgrounds and experiences related to Georgian youth and civic society. The main mission of ICPI is to provide the platform for the development of self-aware, progressive and engaged youth. We encourage personal growth, innovation and positive change through critical thinking, intercultural understanding, support for new initiatives and collaboration.
The team of ICPI promotes common European values, peace-building, youth work and active citizenship for a more sustainable and solidary society. We believe in the power of education, as a means to plant the seeds of change in attitude and action.
ICPI is working in different social, educational and cultural fields with different target groups such as: children, students, refugees, elderly people and youth from various social-economic backgrounds. Organization cooperates with different governmental institutions and NGOs on local and international levels, has been actively involved in Youth in Action Programme and continues working within European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus + programme, by the European Commission.
In 2015 ICPI founded and is still running the local social enterprise (co-working space & social cafe) "Generator 9.8" (https://goo.gl/8vb1zS; TEDx speech: https://goo.gl/L2nHGX), which has been awarded as the best social enterprise by Ministry of Sports and Youth of Georgia. Through Generator 9.8 we are offering various daily public activities to local young people, such as: lectures, workshops, movie screenings, discussions, exhibitions, music events, etc. Also occasionally we organize start-up meet-ups, Hakathons, Creathons for young people with creative ideas in order to promote entrepreneurial spirit and youth employability.
The main objectives of ICPI are: to support socially active young people, promote integration and contribute to peace-building processes, to give a hand to create a more active, educated and modern society. The organization aims at supporting young people’s personal, educational and spiritual development, enhancing elderly people and building a bridge for linking the generations, addressing to promote the idea of active citizenship and volunteering, deepen inter-cultural relations and build partnership between Georgia and other European countries.
- This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
