SEI is a no profit organization that was born in 2013 thanks to the project SEI IES financed by the youth policies department of the Puglia region. The project aimed to meet students all around the region and to boost them to became volunteer and active citizens.

SEI is born with the aim of creating a more sustainable World, where “sustainable” means a society that is more: fair (opened, diverse, welcoming and respectful), eco-centric (where human beings are living in harmony with the nature), balanced and innovative (where the resources are equally divided among all and the processes for managing them are innovative).

Our main target group is composed by youths and we are offering them the chance for improving their skills and knowledge and at the same time impacting positively the communities where they are working or volunteering. We work with youths with less opportunity or at risk of social exclusion.

Our main activities are:

Project design and project management: we write projects (within the EU programs or private foundations or local and national programs, etc.). Once a project is approved we work for the implementation, the development of its activities and the achievement of its goals. We also write project for other organizations, cooperatives, enterprises and institutions. We support their creation and their development. We help them to build up their own network and to be inside our. We strongly believe that is important to have a group of entities that are working in the social fields that are united and compact.

Training Courses: we deliver training courses in schools, universities and in our organization. The main topics are: employment and development of competences, intercultural understanding, social inclusion, social innovation and entrepreneurship, innovative tools for managing organizations or enterprises, corporate social responsibility, staff well-being, respect of human rights and of the environment.

Fund raising campaigns: we create campaigns for other organizations or institutions using the most innovative tools. We strongly believe that the fundraising campaign should be the first step for starting generating incomes.

Vocational Guidance: we work in schools, universities and in youth-centers supporting youths for searching the best opportunities for improving their skills and knowledge (in Italy and abroad) and for finding a job. We support them in developing their own network of organizations and enterprises that can hire them or that can ask their support due to the competences that they have.

Social Entrepreneurship development: we are supporting the creation of social enterprises in our region. We are involved in the process of their creation and we are training the staff that will be employed. The members of our organizations are also part of several working groups that have the aim of developing social enterprises and the networks among them. They are working at international level and in cooperation with several National Agencies in particular in the TCA activities aimed to support the social enterprise development. The fact that our members are part of those working groups offers, to the social enterprises that we are creating, the chance of taking part in activities at the international level (above all within the Erasmus+ program). We are also working in cooperation with several Chambers of Commerce and other trade associations that aim to support the development enterprises that are based on handcraft work.

Start Up support: we are supporting the creation of start-ups support. We create projects for financing the creation of start-ups and for training the youths that will be involved.

Organization of events for developing the European Active citizenship. We organize each year a series of events with the aim of making people aware of the importance of being part of the European Union and of fighting for changing it in order to make it more open, inclusive and equal. We organize these events in schools, partner organizations, several municipalities (Brindisi, Maglie, Cerignola, Foggia, San Pietro Vernotico, San Vito dei Normanni, Taranto, Putignano)and in universities. A really important part during the year, for us, is the European Youth Week of each year and the day of Europe.
