Description of organisation

Zavod Manipura is a non-governmental organization, established in 2008, with the main objective to support young people with fewer opportunities and their families. Our main activities are:
- local youth work
- international youth work
- activities for children
- training courses for youth workers
- training courses for parents
- psychotherapy and counseling.

Our local youth work includes intercultural learning workshops with local youth and ESC volunteers, weekly youth club activities like sports, board games, social games, outdoor activities and special events for secondary schools.
Our international youth work includes hosting, sending and coordinating short term ESC projects for young people with fewer opportunities and special needs, long term ESC projects, youth exchanges, time-out and experiential learning projects for Belgian youngsters in cooperation with Wingerdbloei vzw, the biggest Belgian institution for youth at risk.
During school holidays we organize playing activities and creative workshops for local children. Next to this, we prepare thematic workshops for children in cooperation with local primary schools and kindergardens.
Training courses for effective parenting are a part of "The Incredible Years" programme and we implement them in cooperation with the regional social services.
Our work with youth and children is based on experiential learning and effectively supports the development of many different skills, from practical to social skills.
