Description of organisation

Saue Youth Center is an informal education center that follows the open youth work principles. We strive to attract the youth of Saue municipality with its diversified recreational activities and versatile traditions while supporting their ideas and initiatives. After the merging of municipalities in 2017 Saue Youth Center became the coordinating center in Saue municipality of the development of youth work and youth work itself managing most of the youth working units across the municipality. It is our duty to guarantee the quality of youth work throughout the whole municipality and it has become our personal mission to be accessible all around Saue municipality for the young people in need.

Our main center in Saue is a two-storey and modern center built in 2011 which offers the youth a variety of opportunities for self development. Saue Youth Center has a big venue for young people for organising parties, concerts, cultural events or even training sessions. It also holds many other rooms for recreational activities, such as our dance class mirror room, recreational arts & crafts room that is separated by sliding walls from the cooking class-room, technical computer lab and music studio, a study room for preschoolers or older. In addition the house holds opportunities for the youth as far as their imagination goes. Many rooms are adaptable for the needs and the activities are implemented hand in hand with compliments of the facility.

Young people have the opportunity to participate in various projects, take part from our trips & hikes, excursions and organise different events. There have been many youth initiative projects, as well as international and domestic youth exchange projects. With the time the work has progressed also from inside of the house to activities and work outside of the building. Saue Youth Center has engaged in mobile youth work all across the municipality in various locations with the goal to show its existence & opportunities, share information and to locate youth with needs of that extra support a youth center is able to provide.

With a house that holds such various opportunities, staff with such diverse backgrounds and many other units all across the municipality Saue Youth Center facilitates a lot of potential and impact to develop on a regional scale as well as national's youth work policies.
