Description of organisation

RPO “BelAU” was created in 1989and put an emphasis on work with the youth and creation of special environment which can be beneficial for every young person participated in their movement. One of the major goals of the organization - is to create conditions for self-realization of children, youth and adults.
In 2003 the NGO "BelAU" was elected to be the national coordinator of the Belarusian network of NGOs working with children. In 2004 the organization became a member of Belarusian National Youth Council (BNYC), Baltic Sea NGO network against drugs and the Association of HIV / AIDS NGOs "Belarusian AIDS Network"since 2007.
Since 1997 the organization has been active in the field of HIV / AIDS starting with the implementation of the educational project "Pupils to pupils about AIDS prevention" funded by UNDP. Gaining experience RPO “BelAU” became the national expert that provided assistance to local NGOs in planning and implementation of activities on HIV and STDs prevention among the most vulnerable population groups (MSM, WSB). In 2003the project on provision of medical services and information on HIV / STDs prevention to women of sex business at the frontier zone was implemented with the support of WHO Regional Office.
During the last 8 years RPO “BelAU” has been actively involved in all UNICEF activities addressing the rights of the children including the development of the set of the information-education materials for teachers and school children on the rights of the child
In 2002 the project "University of the Rights of child" was executed.
