Description of organisation

The Centrum Bavaria Bohemia (CeBB) in Schönsee (Upper Palatine, Bavaria) acts as a cultural platform, cross-bordering infocenter, contact partner and partner for cooperation between the neighbouring Bavarian and Czech regions (Upper Fanconia, Upper Palatine, Lower Bavaria, Carlsbad, Pilsen and South Bohemia). The CeBB was opened in spring of 2006. The non-profit association Bavaria Bohemia e.V., founded in 2004, is responsible for the Centrum Bavaria Bohemia (CeBB). The CeBB offers to visitors a wide range of bilingual information about events and the cultural life in the Bavarian and Bohemian neighbouring countries.

Beyond cultural and touristic information there are transboundary presentations and programms of culture in the focus of the activities of the CeBB. The spectrum of the programmes offered is multifaceted. Expositions, concerts, readings, theatre performances, debats, movies and presentations clearly illustrate the cultural diversity of the neighbouring countries. Information about the actual programme of the CeBB, but also about many other cultural events are to be found on the bilingual online-database www.bbkult.net.

The aim of CeBB's activities is to intensify the exchange between Bavarian and Czech neighbouring regions, to initiate cooperations and cultural presentations and in this way to attract the public interest to the neighbouring country. This public includes people who are interested in culture, who visit the numerous events or who are interested in the extraordinary architecture of the building. But there are also cultural actors and cultural responsibles, politicians, multiplicators and cooperation partners of the German-Czech background, school classes and groups of students.
