Description of organisation

Since 2004 our association IKSZT Kisködmön works in the sub-regional territory, the area of Derecske-Létavértes, where there are many socially, economically, culturally, or even geographically disadvantaged young people. These youth are currently restricted access information and advisory services (which services are available only in some municipalities and currently available only in Hajdúbagos). These community sites operate in small isolated spot- reaching only few young people and they offer marginally availability of guidance services. There are no volunteer programs for sustainable development.Our association has two Vice Presidents, they are both young people and they have worked for many years as a volunteers helping the association. We have 42 member in our organization and 60% of them are young. Our priority is to involve the youth in all kind of activities and programs as well. In addition to this for us is very important to revive, preserve and nurture our traditions, culture and national identity. For children and young people we organize and carry out tradition preservation programs, events and meetings. We collaborate with the local and regional partner associations, including the Youth Bureau HBM in working out and realize project of national and international level.Considering the local demands and needs, we try to provide solutions for local and regional residents with less opportunities, improving the quality of their life in the most economical way possible during our activities.Our association, the IKSZT “Kisködmön” get up many of activities for all ages, from children to youth, from teenagers to old persons.In our day care centre we organise after school activities for children, leisure time programs for all the family, music lessons, art workshops, healthcare advising, health education (challenge day, horseback riding, nature walking on foot and bike rides), organization of camps reinforcing national identity and also marriage guidance for young couples. Target group : children and young people aged 3-17 years.Culture and public education: our task-related activity is to celebrate worthily all the national events of (15 March, 23 Oct, 20 August . . . ). The folk traditions custody and care; as winter Carnival , Easter, picnic feast in May, St. Stephen’s Day, Watermelon Day, the grape harvest, waiting Advent and New Year’s Eve. During the summer holidays we organize art and heritage camps, activities in a horse farm, trekking in the Earth Dog Reserve.We set up trainings: for unemployed and people with handicap to improve their competence, informatics courses, foreign language courses of 90 hours (following the 2.1.2 TAMOP program) which are free for all the participants.We arrange activities for youth, like film projection, spare time programs, activities to improve the public spirit, international exchanges, international seminars and trainings for youth workers and youth animators together with our foreign partner organisations, cross-border cooperation with the youth community development of our foreign partner associations, EVS projects.As mentor the Hajdúbagosi Kisködmön IKSZT coordinates the sub-regional youth job together with all the IKSZT associations of our region. Our aims are to discover all needs and necessities of youth at local level and we do it involving the young people. With them we organise training for volunteers and we help them to create autonomous youth self-organizations. We collaborate also with the department of Sociology of the University of Debrecen and its students help us as youth workers during the preparation and organisation of the youth activities as we offer to them a practical training site in our association. We work also with the local government of Hosszupalyi and together we coordinate the sub-regional youth job of all educational and cultural institute and association of our region.
