The Milicz Association of Friends of Children and People with Disabilities is a large and experienced NGO, a well-known in a region Lower Silesia, operating for the benefit of children and adults with
disabilities, employing over 150 people and providing services to over 1,500 people from Lower Silesia, but above all concentrating to help people with disabilities inhabitants of the Milicz and
surrounding poviats. In addition to traditional forms of therapy, facilities operating under MSPDiON expand their offer by, among others, music therapy, dog therapy and hippotherapy, and their offer is constantly expanding.
Thanks to the functioning of MSPDiON, the perception of therapy among disabled and healthy(their families) people has changed. Over 22 years of activity of the Association in the manner significantly affected the image of a disabled person in the local community. Among others thanks to the Association's activity, our city and its institutions have become more friendly to people with disabilities or even more widely perceived as "others". Since 2012, MSPDiON is an accredited EVS organization as part of the Youth in Action program and now Erasmus + program. Over the years, the philosophy of MSPDiON has also evolved. The effect of this state of affairs is to go beyond the rigid framework of widely understood therapy until recently.
