Description of organisation

The youth center Bechtolsheimer Hof (short: b-hof) is a popular meeting place for young people and young adults aged 12-27 years. Thus it is an institution of open child and youth work and belongs to the department "Youth and Family" of the city of Würzburg. The youth center consists of three areas: the open meeting area, live area with concerts at the weekend and various workshops.

During our opening hours (see below), all interested visitors can come to our open meeting area free of charge and without prior notice. Many young people use this to play billiards, table tennis or table football, play FIFA on the Playstation, listen to music or simply meet friends. Thus, young people are quite free in the design of their free time and at the same time can also play a part in decisions, which promotes personal responsibility and social co-responsibility.
There is a dedicated youth center council for this purpose, which is democratically elected by the visitors once a year.

In this way, young people are taught everyday social and democratic values. In our protected environment it is possible to deal with those values and to try something out.

For example, there is the opportunity to attend our weekly workshops: e.g. cooking together, football training, skating, screen printing, hip hop, break dancing and K-pop dancing.
On the weekends, concerts are held in the live area (hall) of the youth center. There is also a rehearsal room for bands that local groups can use to practice.

Young people who visit the youth centre thus have the opportunity to try their hand at our various workshops and projects, to design their free time and to creatively discover and deepen new skills.
