Description of organisation

Organization’s main goals:
- promotion of the comprehensively understood development of photography both in Poland and abroad through exhibitions, publications and educational activities.
- improvement of ethical and professional standards in the field of photography, increasing awareness through taking up opinion-shaping activities within photographers environment and beyond as well as educational work.
- promotion of the free and unbiased exchange of information
- strengthening and promotion of knowledge on the subject of transformation period in Central and Eastern Europe through the artistic work of the Association members.

Main beneficiary of the organisation's activities:
Our activities are aimed at various target groups and their initial point as well as their core has always been photography. Within the projects realized so far we have targeted our activities at professionals (here an example might be Sputnik Photos Mentorship Programme aimed at young talented photographers as well as workshops with artists from Poland and abroad and international exhibitions and conferences), but also at children and youth (i.e. series of workshops in villages and small towns in Poland) and finally at a vast spectrum of recipients; here the examples constitute exhibitions, photo books and projects, in which photography is one of the elements as it is in the case of ‘Strony’. Because of our long-term involvement in development of photography both in Poland and in the region we managed to build up a position of an opinion-forming organization. Our members are invited to juries of the most prominent photo contests in Poland and EU, they curate of exhibitions and they also co-organize festivals. From 2016 we are angaged in EVS, having 3 volunteers from Central and Eastern Europe so far helping us run the organisation.
