description of organisation

The Hungarian Volunteer Sending Foundation has more than 19 years of experience in international volunteer-sending. For 18 years we were a member of the international volunteer sending organizations’ group called FORUM, we have participated in the GLEN network (Global Education Network of Young Europeans) in the last 15 years and we are a certified sending organization within the EU Aid Volunteers Initiative.

The aim of HVSF is to help young people to participate in international solidarity volunteer projects. We believe that voluntary work is a part of a lifelong non formal learning process, which greatly contributes to achieve long-lasting and far reaching personal goals and social development for young people. Last but not at least - through creating impact together – volunteering in solidarity projects helps young people to become European citizens as well. We support them from the very first steps starting with preparation and during the whole project. We help with reintegration after their service and encourage them to use – and share – their newly acquired skills and experience in the most efficient way.

HVSF is committed to send young people to volunteering projects without any social and financial barriers. HVSF is always looked for the possibilities to send more and more Hungarian volunteers to participate in projects also in countries of the global south. Through these projects we would like to give the chance to our Hungarian volunteers to contribute with their personality, to show and learn new ways of thinking and doing, make local communities and young people work side by side to create positive – and sustainable - change, thus increase the attitude on global thinking in Hungary as well. Depending on the project - after longer or shorter selection process - we focus on the volunteers’ individual and group preparation and support their personal learning process.

The members of the organization are enthusiastic and open to find new possibilities for young people to do international voluntary work.

This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
