description of organisation

The Polip Youth Association is a youth information and adviser non-profit organisation. It was established in 2004 by experienced youth workers.
The target group:
- students and young people aged 10-35
Our aims
- providing services and support for young people, giving information and advices, help them in their every day problems
- to be a coordinator between the youngsters and the local government to prevail the youngsters' opinion in decisions
- to transmit human and cultural values, to popularize the non-formal learning systems. Topics: volunteering, solidaritate, environmental protection, democracy,
- to involve young people several kind of local and international programs developing their personality
Main activities of the association:
„Tanoda” – student support program
Providing open place afternoons for students to spend their leisure time, for group meetings and help them in their programs
Organising several programs (trainings, leisure and sport events, camps)
Youth Council – the members are elected from the schools in our town and county representing the students. They participate in a democracy developing process learning about their rights, keeping contact with the local authority transmitting the opinion of the youth.
VET: vocational educational trainings - mobility programs for students - vocational practicing abroad
Coordinating volunteer activities (local and international)
Local volunteer club: the members help our activities added their ideas planning and organising programs, spreading information, advertise and recruite participants. They have own annual workprogram too, for ex. caritative programs: helping people who have less opportonities or disadvantaged background.
International volunteering: Since our establishment in 2004, we have been continuously hosting volunteers and coordinating projects of other organizations. The volunteers make the programs more colorful, they bring new ideas. We would like to continue hosting and coordinating volunteers in the frame of the European Solidarity Corps program too.
The tasks of the ESC volunteers: contributing in our youth programs
leisure time activities afternoons with children (aged 12-16)
contributing to organise programs: for ex. sport, photo exhibition, games
presenting own culture
cooperating with other volunteers in common programs
