Der djo-Deutsche Jugend in Europa e.V. ist ein bundesweit tätiger, freiheitlich-demokratischer,
überparteilicher und überkonfessioneller Kinder- und Jugendverband, der im Bereich der
außerschulischen Bildungsarbeit, Freizeitgestaltung als auch Kultur- und Integrationsarbeit tätig ist.
Die djo-Deutsche Jugend in Europa versteht sich als Dachverband ihrer Landesverbände sowie von
landsmannschaftlichen Gruppen und von Migrantenjugendselbstorganisationen (MJSO), die sich als
djo-Bundesgruppen begreifen. Unser Leitbild ist das gleichberechtigte, tolerante und solidarische
Zusammenleben in kultureller und inhaltlicher Vielfalt. Die Erfahrung von Flucht und Migration sowie
die Auseinandersetzung mit der Bedeutung von Identität und Heimat sind prägende und verbindende
Elemente für unseren Verband. Im Rahmen unserer Jugendarbeit fördern wir die kulturelle
Betätigung von jungen Zuwanderern als Mittel der Identitätsstiftung und Hilfe zur Integration. In der
internationalen Jugendarbeit organisiert die djo-Deutsche Jugend in Europa auf Versöhnung und
Verständigung ausgerichtete Austausch- und Begegnungsmaßnahmen mit den ostmittel-, ost- und
südosteuropäischen Ländern. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt unserer Arbeit ist der Einsatz für eine
weltweite Ächtung von Vertreibung und das Engagement für die sozialen, politischen und kulturellen
Rechte von Flüchtlingen und Vertriebenen. Die djo-Deutsche Jugend in Europa sieht neben ihren
landsmannschaftlichen Jugendverbänden junge Zuwanderer und Flüchtlinge als wesentliche
Zielgruppe ihrer Jugendarbeit. Sie unterstützt die Integration junger Spätaussiedler_innen, Zuwanderer_innen und Geflüchtete, indem sie deren Selbstorganisation in eigenen Jugendverbänden fördert und soziale, pädagogische und soziokulturelle Orientierungshilfen anbietet.

The djo-Deutsche Jugend in Europa, Bundesverband e.V. (German Youth in Europe) is a nationwide, free-democratic, non-partisan and non-denominational children and youth association working in the field of extracurricular educational work, leisure activities as well as cultural and integration work.
The djo-German Youth in Europe sees itself as an umbrella organization of its regional associations as well as of rural groups and migrant youth organizations (MJSO), which act as djo federal groups. Our guiding principle is living together in an equal, tolerant and solidary society in a variety of cultures and contents. The experience of escape and migration alongside with the dealing with the meaning of identity and home are formative and unifying elements for our association. As part of our youth work, we promote cultural activities of young immigrants as a means of establishing their identity and helping their integration.
In the international youth work organizes the djo-German Youth in Europe on reconciliation and understanding-oriented exchange and encounter measures with the east central, Eastern and Southeast European countries.
Another focus of our work is the commitment to a worldwide outlawing of displacement and commitment to the social, political and cultural rights of refugees and displaced persons.
The djo-German Youth in Europe sees young immigrants and refugees as essential target group of our youth work. The djo-German Youth in Europe supports the integration of young repatriates, immigrants and refugees by promoting their self-organization in their own youth associations and offers them social, educational and socio-cultural guidance.
