IPC Alumni union is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation, consisting of app. 1400 members age 17-90 across the globe. Our aim is to connect the former students who attended the so-called "Den Internationale Højskole" (IPC ) (Helsingør, Denmark) to each other, give them possibilities for further development and to spread the world about IPC and its values. IPC is a non-formal education-based boarding school that promotes global citizenship and intercultural learning. Learning happens in many aspects: theoretically through interactive lectures and discussions, in abstract level through e.g. arts, cultural events and sports and of course socially since there are usually at least 20-30 different countries represented by students in a term.
IPC Alumni has a wide web of youth workers, partner organizations and schools all over the world. We put a great emphasis on peacemaking, equality and sustainability. Beside of developing a notion of internationality/global citizenship, IPC Alumni also embraces the need of bonding to one’s own traditions and gives the possibility to the members to promote their own culture e.g. through cultural events.
We support our members across the globe in their local initiatives by facilitating an exchange of contacts, ideas and resources. Since 2016 IPC Alumni is hosting volunteering projects which main objectives are to create a creating space for self development, promotion of human rights, intercultural learning and inclusion.
