Mullsjö folk high school is situated in the small community of Mullsjö and has 35 employees; 15 teachers and 20 people in the administrative staff. There are usually around 120 students annually and they study at Mullsjö Folk High school for one or several years. It is possible for 70 students to live on campus during their studies.
The students can choose between eight different educational programmes based on interest and themes. Mullsjö folk high school is similar to a community college or popular education based on non-formal education as our main methodology. Today we have three different profiles on our general course for a high school diploma. One course with focus on mental health, one course with focus on IT/web and one with focus on future work as a Personal Assistant. We also have arts courses in photography, ceramics, fine art and textile. We are also a school with an international profile.
We offer specific classes to newcomers (people with fewer opportunities) to get the equivalence of a high school diploma in Sweden. This goes well in hand with the principle of inclusion within the European Solidarity Corps, promoting, amongst others, “tolerance, human rights and the value of differences and diversity of all kinds and to provide all young people equal access to opportunities”. We believe in solidarity and creating an environment for youth and young adults that gives each individual the possibility grow based on their needs and abilities.
