SCV - Surf Clube de Viana, established in 1989, is a non-profit organization which mission is to develop a wide variety of sport, cultural, social, educational and organizational skills for the Youth.
Training and coaching are some of the major goals of this association, which over the past 30 years has been contributing to the sport, cultural, social and economic development at the regional, national, european and worldwide levels.
Our daily work in teaching surfing with young people from the schools of our region is one of our main activities, which is an effective part of their school curriculum.
Our regular activities, ranging from the occupation programs of sport, leisure, voluntary work, cooperation, training and education, promote not only social integration and accessible and solidarity activities but also civic stimulation as intervening participants.
The main areas of operation include: sports, cultural and social intervention projects, surfing school, inclusive sport activities, training courses, sports investigation, social and cultural animations (summer camps for youth), pedestrian activities (Coasteering, Beach Run), fitness training, environmental and inclusive awareness actions, partnerships with various entities related to sports and nature such as Scouts, Guides and other Social Solidarity Institutions.
Over the past 30 years SCV has established several partnerships with the Portuguese surfing federation, higher education institutions (universities and polytechnic institutes), the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ), and the local government.
SCV is also a member of the European Network of Outdoor Sports (ENOS) and the World Surf Cities Network (WSCN).
Our main partner is the city council.

Links with the local comunity
SCV manages the High Performance Center of Surf and also integrates its local management commission with city council, Portuguese Federation of Surf, Politecnic Institute (local university), IPDJ. The main partner of the SCV is the city council. We are their provider of pionier nautic programme of school in wich we give the access for all of daily surf classes for the school community.
We also have a partnership with an disabled people - APPACDM in Viana do Castelo - (neigbour of SCV) with who we developp several activities in adaptive surf for the aim of sport inclusion and we also have a patnership with Local Residents Association of the SCV local address in wich we developp several sport activities.
