description of organisation

The Compagnons Bâtisseurs New Aquitaine association is one of the 8 associative structures belonging to the national network of the Compagnons bâtisseurs. The network Compagnons bâtisseurs is an associative movement of popular education which intervenes for more than 60 years for:
• Improvement of housing through projects designed to help residents who are struggling to solve their housing problem, be they owners or tenents.
• Economic insertion in the building sector through integration projects and training projects, support for technical apprenticeship designed to remove obstacles to the employment of people in great difficulty.
• Welcome and accompaniment of volunteers and young volunteers at the origin of the movement of fellow builders.

The culture of the Compagnons Bâtisseurs is anchored in action, doing it, doing it with, and doing it together. Our actions are based on the following values:
- The meeting and the intercultural exchange around a project of social utility realized in common,
- The voluntary commitment
- The promotion of the right of each individual to be an actor of his life and in society.
- The promotion of the right to decent housing and the appropriation of its living space,
- The will to propose areas of experience, accountability, concrete solidarity and popular education.

Our association has been recognized as a general interest organization since January 24, 2014, approved "youth and popular education" since December 8, 2010, approved social engineering financial and technical since February 24, 2014 on the departments of the Gironde and Landes.
It is approved "rental intermediation and social rental management" since November 19, 2014, but also socially responsible social enterprise since July 11, 2017.
It consists of two distinct and complementary poles of activity: housing and professional integration.
All these activities are carried out either at the headquarters of the association or on the outside intervention sites which are today mainly in Gironde.
