Description of organisation
Epoka e Re is an youth nonprofit and nongovernmental organization founded in 2005 in Fier, Albania and its mission is to address the needs of young people in the local government by including them in the decision making process and empowering them to take action in order to become an active part of the community. Even though the focus of the organization are young people aged 14 – 29 the organization also offers various services for the community and marginalized groups depending on their needs. Epoka e Re believes in the power of young people to act as agents for change in the society and in their impact to improve local and central policies on issues such as education, public health, environment, gender equality etc. In this regard, the center organizes and supports various youth initiatives and activities such as advocacy campaigns, capacity building activities, informative and awareness raising activities for the community, research and publications, network building activities, summer camps, free courses for young people, found raising, art and sports activities. During 17 years of work and experience in the youth field, Epoka e Re has built a strong and wide network that includes:
-The municipality and other local and central government institutions.
-Local, national and regional organizations.
-Schools.
-The national youth agency.
-Albanian National Olympic Committee.
-Employment offices
-Cultural and sports centers etc.
