Fondazione Caritas Ambrosiana (FCA) is a catholic organization working in the Diocese of Milan (a territory extended in half Lombardia Region including the city of Milan, Rho, Varese) to tackle social exclusion, poverty and discrimination "in view of the full development of man, of social justice and of peace, with special attention to the lowest of the low and with prevalent pedagogic functions”.

Its main aims are:
- to support local and community development;
- to promote concrete actions in order to face particularly serious needs through experimental services;
- to cultivate charity and the commitment to social justice;
- to coordinate charity and assistance actions;
- to organise and coordinate actions in emergency situations;
- to encourage studies and research on social and educational issues;
- to promote and support volunteering;
- to educate in peace and solidarity among peoples, against racism and discrimination
- to promote sustainability and care for the environment.

FCA operates in the following areas:
- Addictions
- Minors and families
- Convicts, former convicts and people serving non-custodial sentences
- Elderly
- HIV/AIDS affected people
- Human trafficking and sexual exploitation
- Migrants
- Mental health
- People with disabilities
- Roma and Sinti
- Severe social exclusion and homelessness
- Women ill-treatment
- Food poverty
- Laudato si' (environment and sustainability)

FCA also has cross-sectoral offices: International Cooperation, Youngsters and Volunteering, Emergencies, Caritas network (about 300 Caritas counseling centres in the Diocese).

Caritas Ambrosiana works at different levels (local, national, European) in collaboration with both private and public bodies, with other NGOs and in collaboration with the networks of Caritas Italiana at national level and Caritas Europa at European level.
