description of organisation

NGO “INTERRA” was established in 2004 by five founders experienced in a field of youth work.
The aim of NGO “INTERRA” is to increase civic participation of people for the community development. Diversity, tolerance, solidarity and equality, human rights, and civic engagement constitute our values.
We stand for a lively international exchange of ideas, knowledge and best practices in the spheres of culture, education, youth work, environment, sustainable development, urban development, civil initiatives, and social structure.
We work at the intersection of culture, education and international cooperation. Since 2004, we have conducted forums, seminars, workshops, club meetings, summer camps on these matters. We also organize group and individual international exchanges.
- We have steady partners in different countries of the EU.
- Members of our organization take part in Training Courses within the framework of Erasmus+ Programme and other European programmes.
- We collaborate with state instutions (Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Administration, Regional Center for the support of civic initiatives, Siberian Federal University, Institute for professional training of teachers)
- We implement a long-term regional project “Nestolitsa” supported by Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg (Berlin). This workshop program on urbanism (whose name translates to «Not the Capital») follows a different track: it invites senior schoolchildren and teachers from small towns and villages of the Krasnoyarsk Region to plan, manage and implement their own project to improve their school yard, town square or other space of their home village or city.
- Since 2016 we have been implementing a long-term joint Russian-Ukranian critical thinking program "A habit of thinking" that features methodical seminars, practical modules and international workshops for pre-service and in-service teachers. The objective is to raise their critical thinking skills, sharpen their information and media literacy, and have them enter into dialogue and professional cooperation with each other.
- Since 2017 we are working on the topic of sustainable developmet and implement projects in this field (youth exchanges on responsible consumption and fair trade, educational programs for local communities on ecomindset development, open educational meeting on 17 UN SDGs, researches).
- "INTERRA" is working with the topic of Global citizenship education. We have partnering schools where collaborate both students and organise trainings for teachers. In addition, INTERRA organises summer language camp where English is an instrument to discover the world and it's global challenges.
- "INTERRA" also works with the volunteers in format of work camps. This way we are promoting voluntary work and voluntary opportunities for people in the region.
- “INTERRA” cooperates with ethnic diasporas of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, when we organize camps, trainings, etc.
- Via its active members, the organization established contacts with a great number of regional NGOs (ecological, educational, human rights etc.), local institutions (youth clubs, schools ,universities, museums, State Universal Scientific Library of the Krasnoyarsk region), and local authorities.

The main target group of the organization are young men and women aged between 14 and 30 (university students, creative youth, and young people from the rural communities of Krasnoyarsk region) and educatiors (teachers, youth workers, journalists etc) with different educational, social, family and professional backgrounds.
